Our Funders

National Lottery Community Fund – Reaching Communities England

The National Lottery Community Fund Reaching Communities program strengthens communities which come together to improve health and create inclusive spaces and activities that encourage participation. They have generously sponsored Home-Start Horizons with their grant programme for the next three years, enabling us to deliver our core services around Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Without the National Lottery and its players around the UK, Home-Start Horizons would find it very difficult to fund the work we do.
Henry Smith Foundation

The Henry Smith Foundation funds Home-Start Horizons through our work with early years parenting support and promoting children’s development. The aims of their fund is to strengthen parenting skills to improve children’s outcomes, build confidence and reduce stress in the home and connect families to their local community. These aims align directly with Home-Start Horizons own aims and we are proud to have the Henry Smith Foundation supporting our work.
BBC Children in Need

The BBC Children in Need fund is dedicated to helping to improve children’s lives in the UK. Thanks to the fund and the generous people that raise donations throughout the year, Home-Start Horizons has vital funding to keep our staff and volunteers delivering family support in the home, in group settings and on-line.
Armed Forces Covenant

The Armed Forces Covenant is a charity and non-departmental public body that funds projects across the UK serving the armed forces community with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and disadvantages experienced by the armed forces community. Home-Start Horizons is proud to be funded to deliver family support to Armed Forces Personnel and their families in Leicestershire and Rutland and to be able to provide support to mothers suffering postnatal illness.
Leicester City Council Family Hubs

Leicester City Council Family Hubs provide essential support for families with children and young people, offering a variety of services and resources across Leicester. Home-Start Horizons is proud to be funded by them to provide parenting advice, child developmental support and guidance for families facing specific challenges. We are partnering on a number of projects, particularly around the mental health of mothers facing postnatal illness and around the mental health of fathers.
Masonic Charitable Foundation

The Masonic Charitable Foundation has generously supported Home-Start Horizons for the next three years. Funded entirely by the Freemasons, the charity builds better lives by encouraging opportunity, promoting independence and improving wellbeing. We are delighted to have their support to deliver our group support sessions in the area. These help parents come together to build support networks while children have the chance to play, to develop cognitive and physical skills vital in their development.
People’s Postcode Lottery

Home-Start Horizons have been delighted to be the recipients of two donations from the People’s Postcode Lottery Millionaire Street fund. We are incredibly grateful to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for their generous support, which will help us make a real difference to families in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland at a time of pressing need. With four in every ten children in Leicester now living in poverty, significantly above the national average and contributing to increased stress, poorer health outcomes and strain on family wellbeing, the demand for early-help support has never been greater.
Annually we support hundreds of families with children under five, providing tailored volunteer-led home-visiting, family groups and mental health programmes, reporting high levels of reduced isolation and improved parental confidence. Thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery, we can extend this vital support to more families struggling with low income, isolation and emotional stress, strengthening parents and giving children the best possible start in life, because childhood can’t wait.
